Cisit brings together research from most of the scientific institutes and organizations in France's Nord Pas-de-Calais region to address the issues involved in sustainable transportation and mobility.
The building hosts the LAMIH UMR CNRS 8201 (Laboratory of Industrial and Human Automation control, Mechanical engineering and Computer Science), a joint research unit between University of Valenciennes and Hainaut-Cambresis (UVHC) and CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research).
It hosts 1,000 m2 of testing platforms (vibration testing, biomechanical motion testing, mechanical testing under extremes of speed and temperature).
